Little Creek is an 8.5-megawatt solar power generating facility located in the town of Napanee, Ontario. It uses energy from the sun to generate power by using 11 arrays of photovoltaic panels to create an electric field resulting in an electrical current. Each array contains one cluster consisting of two inverters (to convert direct to alternating current) and one inverter transformer.
BluEarth acquired the Little Creek Solar Facility in March 2014. It is the first of four solar facilities acquired from Canadian Solar Inc. Read more.
Regulatory Approvals and Documents
The Little Creek Solar Facility is classified as a Class 3 Solar Facility and required a Renewable Energy Approval (REA) from the Ontario Ministry of the Environment (MOE) in accordance with Ontario Regulation 359/09 (“O. Reg. 359/09”). The REA was issued in January 2013.
A copy of the REA and supporting documents are posted below along with other project information.
