President & Chief Executive Officer

Grant has over 20 years of commercial and technical experience in the energy sector. Grant was appointed President & CEO of BluEarth in July 2015. Prior to this appointment, he was Chief Operating Officer responsible for development, construction and operations of the company’s wind, solar and hydroelectric projects, and VP of Business Development playing a key role in securing approximately $600 million of development assets. Prior to joining BluEarth in 2011, Grant held several leadership roles in the renewable energy and natural gas business units at Suncor Energy. Most recently he was responsible for overseeing their Canadian wind power portfolio, including, at the time, joint venture interests in 147 MW in operation, 108 MW under construction and over 500 MW in development. Grant’s considerable experience in the asset lifecycle includes engineering design, environmental impact assessments, stakeholder relations, project management, regulatory approvals, construction and operations in Canada and internationally. Grant holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Masters of Engineering from the University of Alberta, and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Calgary. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta.

Chief Financial Officer, Co-founder

Kathy is responsible for financial and strategic planning, human resources, reporting, risk management, tax and treasury functions. As Co-Founder, Kathy has played a key role in the acquisition, development and financing of BluEarth’s portfolio. Prior to joining BluEarth Renewables, Kathy was the CFO of Canadian Hydro Developers. Kathy holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Saskatchewan and is a Certified Professional Accountant.

Kelly Matheson-King

Chief Operating Officer, Co-founder

Kelly has over fifteen years of experience in the renewable power sector, and co-founded BluEarth in 2010. Kelly was appointed Chief Operating Officer of BluEarth in July 2015. Prior to this appointment, Kelly was VP of the Regulatory, Communications, and Operations portfolios during BluEarth’s intial five years. Before co-founding BluEarth, Kelly held leadership roles at both Canadian Hydro Developers and TransAlta Corporation supporting both the development of new renewable energy projects, as well as the operations of a diverse fleet of energy facilities across Canada and the United States. Kelly has overseen the permitting of many pioneering wind, hydroelectric and solar facilities built across Canada, and has provided key oversight in the development and operation of several thousand megawatts of renewable generation. Kelly holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Calgary.

Sheri Wise, CMA

Executive Vice President, Controller

Sheri has been in the renewable power sector for over seven years. Sheri joined BluEarth when it was first founded in 2010 and she currently oversees the accounting, payroll, treasury, tax, insurance risk management and corporate activities for BluEarth, and all its subsidiary and joint venture entities. Prior to joining BluEarth, Sheri held senior level accounting and treasury positions at both Canadian Hydro Developers and TransAlta Corporation. Sheri holds a Bachelor of Applied Business Administration, Accounting (Honours) and is a Certified Management Accountant.

Nick Boyd

Executive Vice President, Origination & Development

Nick and his team are responsible for growth and development at BluEarth. Nick joined BluEarth in 2012 and has played a key role in numerous wind, hydro and solar acquisitions and financings. Prior to joining BluEarth, Nick spent over four years at as a commercial banker focused on project finance transactions. Nick has a Bachelor of Management (Finance) from the University of Lethbridge and a Masters of Business Administration from Queen’s University.

Scott Hossie

Vice President, Origination

Scott has fifteen years of experience in the development of energy and infrastructure projects. Scott was appointed VP, Origination in May 2017 and is responsible for generating acquisition opportunities, negotiating key commercial agreements and partnerships, and completing project financings. Prior to this appointment, he was Director of Business Development and Director of Project Development and Construction and played a key role in the acquisition, development and construction of BluEarth’s wind, hydro and solar projects. Prior to joining BluEarth, Scott held management positions at both TransAlta Corporation and Canadian Hydro Developers. Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a Masters Degree in Geography from the University of Guelph, and has completed the Executive Leadership Program at Queen’s University.

Jamey Fitzgibbon

Vice President, Engineering & Construction

Jamey joined BluEarth in April 2017 and he is responsible for engineering and construction. Jamey has over 30 years experience in operations, project management, finance and leadership. Prior to joining BluEarth, Jamey held senior leadership positions in the energy and financial sector. Most recently, Jamey was the Senior Vice President, Christina Lake and Special Projects with MEG Energy. Jamey has also served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Oilsands Quest Inc., Vice President, Resource Development for OPTI Canada Inc. and Vice President at TD Securities. Earlier in his career, Jamey worked in the oil sands and heavy oil industry with Esso Resources, ELAN Energy and Ranger Oil. Jamey has a Bachelor of Science (Chemical Engineering) from Queen’s University, a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Calgary and is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
